On March 21, 2025, a San Diego jury returned a verdict for $2,950,000 in favor of Plaintiff Buffi Maughan, represented by Dan Kramer and Teresa Johnson of Kramer Trial Lawyers. Ms. Maughan was a guest at a local San Diego restaurant with her family when an unsecured heat lamp fell over onto her head and shoulder, resulting in a concussion/mild traumatic brain injury. Defendants denied liability up until the day of trial, and argued that Ms. Maughan’s ongoing physical complaints were due to pre-existing conditions as opposed to a traumatic brain injury.
