After four weeks of trial against skilled defense counsel, Kramer Trial Lawyers secured a unanimous $6,002,314 verdict on behalf of their client in Butler v. San Bernardino County — with the jury finding the County 100% at fault.
The case arose from a 2020 crash caused by a San Bernardino County undercover officer who ran a red light and struck our client’s vehicle. The collision left the client with lifelong chronic pain that has affected every aspect of their daily life.
Despite the severity of the injuries, San Bernardino County offered just $140,000 to resolve the case — and asked the jury to award a mere $4,200. The jury disagreed.
After hearing the full story, the jury returned a unanimous verdict of $6,002,314 and assigned 100% fault to the County.
Partners Dan Kramer and Will Matthews led the trial, fighting to make sure their client’s pain, losses, and future were fully seen and fairly compensated.
“We’re proud that we were able to earn justice for our client. They deserved to have someone fight for them — and this jury made sure that happened.” — Dan Kramer
This result is a reminder that government entities and their employees are not above accountability. When someone is injured by the negligence of a public agency, they have every right to pursue full and fair compensation — and Kramer Trial Lawyers will be there to fight for it.
